Abstract
[en] The theme of this work consists in reliability analysis of military small arms produced by FN Herstal Company. It is mainly interested in reliability performances expressed by the characteristic value MRBF (Mean Round between Failure), which can be estimated from the results of tests by an arithmetic average of the number of fired shots on the number of incidents observed attributable to the fire arm.
Since many years, the values of MRBF are announced into ponctual values in the Specification of Delivery and Reception. But some customers and experts that question those values insist on carrying out test or they ask for the MRBF confidence interval.
With the help of FN Herstal’s confidential experimental data, this work presents some means of applying homogeneous and non-homogeneous Poisson models in the estimation of weapon reliability, with a particularity on the determination of the MRBF confidence interval and modelling of wear's phenomenon of weapons.
