Abstract
[en] Hospitals deal with new challenges such as the demographic changes, the technological progress of medicine as well as the limited human and financial resources. As a result, hospitals find themselves in a situation where the improvement of their performance is a necessity.
Moreover, the increasing demand from the patients as well as the duality which exists between doctors and managers on the vision of the hospital makes difficult the measurement of hospital’s performance.
The Business Intelligence tool seems to be a good solution to improve the performance of hospitals, but is it really appropriate for that?
This work will try to answer to this question by articulating in three parts. The first one will be dedicated to a review of literature concerning the Business Intelligence and the increasing importance of the information in the monitoring of the performance. The second part will enhance different models of hospital performance and evaluate the need of users. The last part will try to define the best solution for the implementation of a Business Intelligence solution in the hospital sector.
