Abstract

[en] The maintenance aspects of the aircraft engine market are particularly complex due
to the number of actors who share this market, but they also are the most lucrative
in this field. Partners having Risk-and Revenues-Sharing-Program could financially be
at the mercy of the engine manufacturers if they do not develop their own model of
financial prediction.
Through this report, the reader can follow the main step in partner’s financial model
elaboration, based on the information they have access to. However, this model
only focuses on maintenance, repair and overhaul aspects for partners having Risk-and
Revenues-Sharing-Program contracts. Internal cost evaluation or fiscal aspect of the
program management and new make equipments are not considered in this document.
Based on contractual information, market publications of the engine or aircraft
manufacturers, sales history data and technical recommendations, the model elaborated
all along this document evaluates the incomes and outcomes the engine manufacturer
and its partners deal with, in the scope of their partnership. Missing data are estimated
thanks to hypotheses or extrapolations from the available ones.
Using the model elaborated, the loss of profit due to the specific contractual structure
is underlined and the sensitivity to the major parameters of partner’s profitability are
pointed out. The global objective of this work being to give advice for upcoming contract
negociations.
