Abstract

This thesis aims to reconstruct the conceptualisation of performance management within the Walloon Public Service under the following research question: How does performance management fit into the political-administrative relationship of The Service Public de Wallonie? By inspecting the realities of managerial practices and anchoring these in a broader reflection on New Public Management and neoliberalism, this thesis articulates reflections around the ideological body of management and the relationship of the SPW with its conceptualisation of public policies.
