Abstract

[fr] Le but du travail est de proposer un processus d’extraction qui permette de récupérer, entre autres, l’énergie de refroidissement de la vapeur. Plusieurs solutions seront proposées et modélisées en partant des données mesurées sur le terrain. La solution finale doit être efficace énergétiquement mais aussi adaptée aux pays en développement. La simplicité, la possibilité de réparer et d’entretenir le systèmes seront également des critères à prendre en compte.

[en] In Haiti, the production of essential oil out of vetiver roots is an important part of the economy of the country. A specific installation has reached to us and asked us to analyse their configuration and study if some amelioration could be made to induce an economy of consumption and therefore of money. Francis Van Massenhove has designed, on paper, some alternative configuration. Here, the existing installation will be compared to the suggested amelioration to see if it is, indeed, an amelioration. In order to obtain every data necessary to the comparison, every configuration will be modelled using a program designed to deal with thermodynamical problems (EES). Concerning the suggested configuration, the exact components composing the system has not been defined yet. The modelling of this configuration will therefore be made in the most general way possible, in order to have only a small amount of changes to make in order to simulate another system, with another component.
