Abstract

[en] Over the last decade, the appearance of a variety of crises has had a significant impact on the functioning of the financial markets. Putting pressure on the researchers to reexamine the panel of safe havens that are already known, while also encouraging them to investigate less conventional assets like cryptocurrencies. It is with this in mind that we decided to test the properties loaned to cryptocurrencies, in particular Bitcoin and Ether, as a safe haven over the US market (S&P500). The study serves as a benchmark on the current state of the stock while lending weight to the emerging trend that neither Bitcoin nor Ether was able to act as a safe haven during recent crises (until 31-12-2021).
