Abstract

[fr] This project thesis aims to explore the importance of performance measurement systems for organizations in the dynamic and competitive business environment of today. It specifically focuses on the implementation of a Performance Measurement Dashboard in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at Reno Energy, a growing SME based in Belgium.
In the past, managers primarily relied on financial measures to track business activities. However, the modern era presents new challenges and risks, including operational, environmental, political, geographical, and technological risks. To effectively navigate this changing landscape, managers need to adopt multidimensional measures that go beyond financial indicators.
Reno Energy recognizes the need to equip itself with adequate tools to measure its activities and overall performance. By implementing a performance measurement system , organizations can gain a clear understanding of their current situation and take appropriate actions. While its benefits have been well-documented for large organizations, its potential advantages for SMEs are less explored.
This project thesis has a dual purpose. Firstly, it aims to highlight the essential elements vital for organizations to survive and thrive in the current business environment. Secondly, it focuses on the steps required to effectively implement a performance measurement system in a real case, specifically tailored to Reno Energy.
Through in-depth research and analysis, this thesis will provide insights into the benefits of Performance Measurement Dashboard for SMEs and offer practical guidance on implementing the dashboard .
By successfully implementing a performance measurement system, Reno Energy can enhance its ability to measure, monitor, and improve its business activities and overall performance.
Overall, this project thesis seeks to provide valuable knowledge and recommendations to support Reno Energy and other SMEs in effectively utilizing performance measurement systems to achieve sustainable growth in today's competitive business landscape.
