4wings foundation: construire une méthodologie d'analyse d'impact d'une fondation.

Abstract

In this current social and economic context, 4WINGS Foundation, a young family foundation of public utility, was founded by four branches of the same family with the aim of acting together to fight against precariousness in Belgium. Through personalized accompaniment, networking, and various forms of support and financing for sustained projects, 4WINGS would like to evaluate the real impact of its support activities. This thesis aims to contribute to the construction of an impact analysis methodology for the Foundation in order to manage and verify the Foundation’s the social impact. Firstly, after a brief introduction, the methodology applied in this thesis will be discussed. Then on, the first part of this project thesis will aim to form a theoretical groundwork on the ways that social impact evaluation is carried out through the Belgian foundations, Venture Philanthropy and philanthropy. The proposed method for impact analysis is carried out in four distinct steps, taking into account stakeholders throughout the process. This evaluation clarifies the desired reasons and objectives of the measurement, identifies the strategies needed to be subsequently interpret the data collected and reports them to the target audience. Secondly, this thesis will focus on the case analysis of 4WINGS Foundation and the impact generated by the support for organizations that innovate in the fight against precariousness, with a descriptive part and an analytical part. The results of the evaluation will be presented as a way to propose recommendations and that can build long-term impact management. Finally, the last part will discuss chapter “Sustainable Ethics Development” which raises some ethical issues in philanthropy and the main limitations of social impact evaluation. Then, the conclusion of this thesis brings light to the challenge of studying the impact of the Foundation.
